Hello,My name is Dave Shandley, I am the Sales Manager for Ormston Technology Ltd and have been a main distributor of DigiTerra Explorer for about 4 years now in the UK and Ireland. We are very happy with the communication and service we get from all of the staff of DigiTerra in Budapest.
We have seen the development and improvements from DigiTerra Explorer V4 to V5 and have been very happy with the new features which have been added over this time, we also feel that we have contributed with our own ideas, such as the Copy Nearest Feature and also the Cable Locator interface.
DigiTerra Explorer is very intuitive and extremely easy to use, setting up of pick lists does not require you to be a software programmer. Adding layers in all types of native formats, shape files, Mapinfo files, DXF JPEG’s etc as layers without any conversion is effortless, these layers can be edited and updated still in their native format, then exported to update their GIS back at their office.
I feel that we have gained a lot of sales here in the UK of Magellan MMCX and MM6 GPS, because we use DigiTerra V5 when demonstrating these units. We can offer to develop a tailored system for many types of GIS consultants, Councils, Utility Companies as well as Arborists, Foresters, Water Authorities and more.
We have had some great successes with DigiTerra, and feel that it played a huge part in getting us some large orders of Magellan GPS units with national companies like the National Trust, Fountains PLC and the British Army.
They have a very modern web site which offers customers information, the latest software upgrades, and it is also a way of communicating with DigiTerra, to get and offer new idea’s and also to upload help files and movies of how to do more complicated commands.
We have had a great relationship with all the staff in Budapest and hope to continue to really succeed with more sales in the future, since the software is now compatible with the MMCX, MM6 and PM500 which offers a higher accuracy GIS data capture system than before.
